Metairie Country Club Golf Course

Metairie Country Club features an 18-hole private course originating from Seth Raynor’s 1920s design concepts. Golf professional Joseph Bartholomew supervised construction, while Brian Silva completed a major modern reimagining. Silva restored Raynor-inspired template concepts, including Biarritz, Redan, Leven, Eden, Cape, and Maiden holes. Bermuda turf covers fairways and greens, supporting firm and fast playing conditions. The course measures approximately 6,600 yards and plays to par 72. Published ratings and slopes vary by tees, with championship difficulty approximately 72 to 73 and 130-plus.

Strategic bunkering and enormous contoured greens provide much of Metairie’s challenge despite relatively flat terrain. The club does not publish definitive current bunker or water-hole counts. Water and drainage features influence several holes, while bunkers create demanding strategic angles throughout the course. The Biarritz third and Redan seventh showcase classic Raynor template architecture. The Lion’s Mouth eleventh features a distinctive bunker extending into the green complex. The Punchbowl fifteenth provides another memorable signature-style hole with dramatic putting-surface contours.
