Full Privilege Family membership includes unlimited golf, practice balls, and golf-cart use for the household. Non-resident membership is available to qualifying golfers living more than 25 miles from Deerfield’s physical address. Non-resident members receive course and driving-range privileges but pay separately for golf-cart usage. Limited outside play costs $70 including cart Monday through Thursday, excluding Tuesday when the club closes. Friday through Sunday outside green fees are $80, with a golf cart included in that price. Deerfield advertises no food-and-beverage minimum, reducing an expense commonly associated with private country clubs. Membership pricing can change, so golfers should verify initiation, dues, assessments, and category requirements directly.

Deerfield promotes a family-friendly membership culture emphasizing golf, friendships, social events, and convenient access from nearby communities.
Deerfield Club Golf Course
Deerfield features an 18-hole private parkland course designed by legendary golfer Byron Nelson and opened in 1979. The championship layout measures 6,900 yards, playing to par 72 with a 73.1 rating and 131 slope. Four sets of tees accommodate different abilities, with the shortest published setup measuring approximately 4,872 yards. The course was carved through natural woodland and winds around several large lakes that influence strategy and scenery. Bermuda-based turf is typical across playing surfaces, while current ownership continues investing heavily in course conditioning. Greenside bunkers are undergoing major renovation using the Better Billy Bunker system to improve drainage and playability.
The course features numerous strategically positioned bunkers, although a reliable current total is not publicly documented. Several large lakes affect multiple holes, but the club does not publish an official count of water holes. The 451-yard sixth ranks as the number-one handicap hole, presenting one of Deerfield’s strongest championship challenges. Deerfield has hosted PGA Tour and Champions Tour qualifiers, U.S. Open qualifiers, and seven Mississippi State Opens. The course has also hosted three Mississippi State Amateur Championships and numerous other prestigious competitive events. Golf Digest ranked Deerfield third among Mississippi courses in 1991, reflecting the Byron Nelson layout’s longstanding reputation.
