Woodland Country Club – Membership Cost and Fees
Woodland Country Club is a private Carmel club offering golf, social, junior, family, and corporate membership opportunities. Estimated full golf initiation fees are approximately $25,000 to $40,000, with older reports listing fees near $35,000. Annual dues are estimated around $6,000 to $8,000, depending on membership category and privileges. Membership applications may require sponsorship by an existing member and approval under current club policies. Additional expenses can include food minimums, lockers, assessments, tournaments, guests, and special events. Prospective members should confirm current pricing because Woodland does not publicly disclose its complete membership fee schedule.
Golf members generally receive regular playing privileges without paying conventional public green fees for each round. Estimated guest green fees range from approximately $75 to $125 for 18 holes when accompanied by members. Cart fees are estimated around $25 to $40 per player, although current official charges remain private. Walking provides an alternative for members and guests when permitted under daily course policies. Caddie services may also be available, potentially adding separate fees and customary gratuities. Actual guest, cart, caddie, and tournament charges can vary according to season and event arrangements.

Clubhouse facilities provide dining areas, private meeting rooms, banquet spaces, locker facilities, and member gathering areas. Golf amenities include a driving range, putting green, short-game practice areas, instruction, club fitting, and professional services. Swimming and tennis programs provide seasonal activities for adults, juniors, and families throughout the membership. Carmel provides an affluent suburban setting north of Indianapolis with extensive residential, recreational, and commercial development. Established neighborhoods and mature landscaping surround Woodland’s approximately 165-acre property in central Carmel. Nearby amenities include restaurants, shopping districts, parks, trails, schools, healthcare, and entertainment destinations. Carmel’s Arts & Design District provides galleries, restaurants, boutiques, entertainment, and community events within convenient driving distance. Indianapolis remains easily accessible for professional sports, cultural attractions, employment, airports, and additional entertainment. Woodland therefore combines a secluded private-club atmosphere with convenient access to Carmel’s extensive community amenities.
Woodland Country Club Golf Course
William Diddel originally designed Woodland’s private 18-hole parkland course, which became a private club in 1956. Pete Dye later redesigned the layout, with Bob Lohmann and Tim Liddy contributing subsequent improvements. Bentgrass greens provide smooth putting surfaces, while carefully maintained fairways support consistently strong playing conditions. Black tees currently measure 7,214 yards and play to par 72 across the championship layout. USGA figures list a 75.3 course rating and 140 slope from the longest Black tees. Wide fairways contrast with demanding green complexes, strategic hazards, and challenging approach shots throughout the course.
Approximately 60 to 70 bunkers are estimated across Woodland, although the club does not publish an official current count. Water influences roughly six to eight holes through ponds, streams, and strategically positioned hazards. Holes nine and eighteen are frequently recognized as memorable finishing holes on their respective nines. The par-five third ranks as the course’s number-one handicap hole and presents another notable challenge. Woodland hosts member championships, invitationals, charity outings, junior competitions, and Indiana-area golf events throughout the season. Strong conditioning and Pete Dye’s architectural influence have helped Woodland remain one of central Indiana’s respected private courses.
